Community Activities

Community is an inherent part of landscape architecture and the design process. Most landscapes created by people are intended to be used and (hopefully) enjoyed by people. Being involved with the community is important to a landscape architect student's education.

At WSU, students have the opportunity to get involved with the community through Community Design Teams. As part of a team, LA students design a 'real' landscape for a local resident or small business.

This section of our web site also provides information about some of the interesting landscapes in the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Everyone interested in landscape architecture should try to visit at least some of the sites listed here under Landscapes Worth Seeing.
